Phoenix is provided by Jonathan Mitchell Anderson for personal use. By creating an account you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for the content you enter. You may close your account at any time by contacting us; your data is then deleted.
Everything you write in Phoenix remains yours. We claim no ownership of it and use it only to provide the service to you.
Phoenix is a reflection and organisation tool. It is not medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice, and it is not a substitute for professional care. If you are in crisis, contact local emergency services.
Phoenix Foundation is a one-time purchase of $1,000 — a single payment, not a subscription. Nothing recurs, and no card is stored for future charges. The exact amount and currency you will be charged are shown on the checkout page before you confirm; that figure is the price.
Foundation gives you continuing access to the Foundation modules as they exist at the time of purchase: the journal, fulfillment scoring, life areas, commitments, relationships, the Future Self Protocol, insights and pattern review, the daily check-in, and export of your own data. We may add to it. We will not put an existing Foundation feature behind a further payment.
Some higher tiers described on our site include things a person delivers rather than software — sessions, reviews, gatherings. Those are arranged by agreement, not bought through this site, and nothing on this page commits us to providing them.
Recurring membership: Phoenix Architect is available as an ongoing membership billed as a recurring subscription on either a monthly cadence ($250 USD per month) or an annual cadence ($2,500 USD per year). Subscriptions renew automatically at the conclusion of each billing period unless cancelled prior to the renewal date. Applicable sales taxes are calculated and added at checkout.
Cancellation via Customer Portal: You may cancel your Architect subscription at any time through the Stripe Customer Portal, accessible directly from Settings › Account (/settings/account). When you cancel, your cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid billing period: you retain full access to Architect modules through that date, and no further recurring charges will be billed.
Refund window for initial payment: A 14-day refund window applies strictly to the initial payment of your Architect subscription. If you request a refund within 14 days of your first payment by emailing the contact address below, we will refund the full amount to your original payment method. Upon refund issuance, Architect access ends immediately, and your data remains exportable for 30 days. Subsequent recurring renewals are non-refundable once billed, except where mandatory local law provides a longer statutory cancellation right.
Failed-payment grace period: If an automatic renewal charge fails, your subscription enters a temporary grace period (status: past_due). We will attempt to process the payment according to standard retry schedules. You can update your payment method at any time in the Customer Portal. If the charge remains unpaid at the end of the retry period, your subscription will be terminated and access to Architect-only features will be suspended.
Foundation floor guarantee: If you previously purchased Phoenix Foundation, your account retains perpetual lifetime access to all Foundation modules regardless of whether an Architect subscription is later activated, cancelled, paused, or terminated. Cancelling Architect returns your account to your Foundation floor (pro tier), never revoking or diminishing your perpetual Foundation access. For accounts that have not purchased Foundation, cancellation reverts the account to the Free tier.
You may request a full refund within 14 days of purchase, for any reason, by emailing the address below. We will not ask you to justify it. Refunds are returned to the original payment method; access ends when the refund is issued, and your data remains exportable for 30 days afterwards so you can take it with you.
After 14 days a purchase is final, except where the law where you live gives you a longer right to cancel — in which case that law applies and this paragraph does not limit it.
Because Foundation is a one-time purchase there is no subscription to cancel. For Architect subscriptions, cancellation is handled via the Customer Portal as described above. You can close your account at any time from Settings, and you can export everything you have written first. Closing your account erases your identity — name, email address, profile and sign-in methods. Records we are required to keep are retained for seven years, but they are no longer linked to you. Closing an account after the refund window does not refund the purchase.
Separately from closing your account (above), you can ask that every record it owns be deleted outright, from Settings. We keep the account for up to seven days after you ask before it is permanently deleted, in case the request was a mistake — you are signed out immediately, and you can cancel and keep your account at any time during that window by signing back in. After seven days, the deletion is permanent and cannot be undone; the only thing kept afterwards is a content-free record of when it happened and how many records were removed, with no names or text. Deleting an account after the refund window does not refund the purchase.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your card number. Prices are stated exclusive of any sales tax we are required to collect, which is shown at checkout.
To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim connected with Phoenix is limited to the amount you actually paid us. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the laws of Canada that apply there, and the courts of Quebec have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law where you live.
The service is provided as is, without warranty of uninterrupted availability. We may change or discontinue features, and we may update these terms; material changes will be announced in the application.
